We at Stay at Home Librarians are all about messy fun! And with the weekend approaching it is time to bring out your inner wild child.
Today we decided to focus on a for of process art we call: Drop Cloth Painting
What is Process Art?
Process art isn’t focused on an outcome at all. Instead you are focusing on just creating what comes organically. Process art is all about the experience the children have while they’re creating.
Is it supposed to look like something?
No. Children learn through play and open-ended activities. Process art allows children to learn because it allows them room to be themselves, make their own decisions, and just create!
What supplies do we need?
1. A drop cloth. We went to Home Depot since it is right around the corner. A canvas drop cloth is perfect as it will protect your stuff and absorb the paint for your kids art
2. Paint. We like anything Crayola. They're washable and we like to add a little water so it goes even further.
3. Paint supplies. We like squeeze bottles, paint brushes, containers for paint and/or just using your bare hands.
4. Imagination. Enjoy the process of just having fun with the children
HAPPY PAINTING!
